Backyard Pool: TinySkate Spot Guide

Deep bowls and coping. Pump on the beat.

Backyard Pool is the pump spot: two deep backyard bowls and a kidney pool on a palm-lined hillside, with a diving board and patio fences. It needs 7 stars. The pools' edges (the coping) are low rails you can grind. This is the closest TinySkate gets to classic bowl skating, and the spot where pumping on the beat matters most.

The three goals

Every TinySkate spot has three goals. Each goal you complete earns a star, and stars unlock the next spot. Backyard Pool is spot 4 of 9 and unlocks at 7 stars.

What's in the spot

• The bowls. Pump on the beat at the bottom of each one. The deep end gives the most speed.
• The coping. Every pool edge is a short rail. Land on it to grind.
• Airs out of the pool. Pop at the lip for a flip or a grab before you drop back in.

Tips

• The pump beat is a ring that fills; tap when it is in the green for PERFECT. Tapping too early says TOO EARLY and resets your chain, so wait for it.
• For the two-second coping grind, pick a 50-50 or a 5-0 and balance with small taps.
• Speed carries into points here: a big air out of the deep end has time for a double kickflip or a flip plus a grab.
