The Mall: TinySkate Spot Guide

Escalator rails after hours. Switch grinds for more.

The Mall is a shopping mall after hours: a glass atrium at night, polished tiles, planters with palms, benches and fountains you pump through. It needs 17 stars. The stars of the spot are the escalators: their handrails run down at an angle and make the longest grinds in the game, plus a long balcony rail.

The three goals

Every TinySkate spot has three goals. Each goal you complete earns a star, and stars unlock the next spot. The Mall is spot 8 of 9 and unlocks at 17 stars.

• SWITCH GRINDS 4X ON ONE RAILChange grind four times on the same rail.
• COLLECT S-K-A-T-EGrab all five letters in a single run.

What's in the spot

• Escalator handrails. Long, sloped grinds. The best place to switch grinds.
• Fountains. Dips you pump through for speed.
• The balcony rail. A long flat rail for the five-second grind.

Tips

• Switching grinds: on a rail, flick up for a nosegrind (again for a crooked), down for a 5-0 (again for a smith), right for a boardslide and left for a feeble. Four switches on one escalator rail clears the goal, and every switch adds to the combo multiplier.
• Each grind balances differently. The 50-50 is the steadiest; boardslides and feebles sway, and crooked and smith grinds pull hard one way. Switch back to an easy one when the balance needle gets wild.
• For the five-second grind, take the balcony rail in a 50-50 and keep tapping to stay centred.
